We welcome one of the most exciting artists to emerge from France in recent years. A BBC New Generation artist, he will play a programme of music all written in his homeland. The Chopin marks the forthcoming bi-centenary of his birth.

This world renowned English tenor will give us an insight into what was being sung here in the 1600s.  He will be partnered by one of the UK’s foremost lutenists

Emma Johnson became famous when she won the BBC Young Musician award at an early age and has since become one of the few clarinettists to have established an international career as a soloist.  Distinguished British colleagues will join her in this largely Romantic programme.

This Ensemble was formed out of the desire of seven brilliant young artists to explore and perform together in the highly adaptable combination of string sextet and piano.  This concert is the first of three they will be playing for us over successive seasons, with gradually increasing forces.
